What is “personal information”?

Personal information is information that identifies you as an individual and relates to you. This includes your name, postal address and email address.

Save Capel will be using your personal information when this is necessary for Save Capel’s legitimate interests except when your interests and fundamental rights override our legitimate interests. Specifically, Save Capel has a legitimate interest in:

  • Gathering information to support arguments against the inclusion of 4,000+ houses in the Parish of Capel in TWBC’s Local Plan.

  • Fundraising to support the Save Capel campaign.

  • Updating Save Capel supporters on the progress of the campaign and ways in which they can help, including invitations to events.

We will not share your information with any third party without your express permission.

How long will we keep your information?

We keep your information for as long as the Save Capel campaign is active.

What decisions can you make about your information?

Data protection legislation gives you a number of rights regarding your information. Your rights are as follows:
• Rectification: if information Save Capel holds about you is incorrect you can ask us to correct it.
• Access: you can also ask what information we hold about you and be provided with a copy.
• Deletion: you can ask us to delete the information that we hold about you.

We will keep your information safe, up to date, only use it for what we said we would, destroy it when we no longer need it and most importantly – treat the information we get fairly. If you consider that we have not acted properly when using your personal information you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office via ico.org.uk.
