Dear Supporters
In case you have not heard already here is the result of the Referendum:
412 votes cast in favour (Yes)
47 votes cast against (No)
The number of ballot papers rejected was 1.
The turnout figure was 24.4 percent, despite the inclement weather.
Save Capel would like to congratulate and thank the Parish Council and everyone involved in making this happen.
We understand that the vote ‘made’ the plan. TWBC will now progress it to the final stage of being ‘made’ officially by Full Council at a meeting due to be held on the 2nd October 2024.
What this means…
The Capel Neighbourhood Plan (read the CNP here) sets out planning and land-use policy for the parish of Capel (the designated neighbourhood area), over the period 2022 to 2038, sitting alongside and in compliance with the strategic policies of the Tunbridge Wells Local Plan.
The CNP policies therefore form part of the development Plan for Tunbridge Wells Borough and must be considered by any interested parties wishing to submit planning applications for development within the Capel Parish.
The CNP does not itself allocate sites for development and the adoption of the emerging Borough Local Plan will be a key factor in the need or otherwise for a review of the CNP. The Parish Council will therefore consider the need or otherwise for a full or a partial review of the CNP within six months of the adoption of the emerging Borough Local Plan.
As ever, the Save Capel Executive would like to thank you all for your continuing support. We’d love to hear your feedback on this via email to savecapel@gmail.com
WELL DONE EVERYBODY!!!
